Instructions for Using the WBJEE Marks Calculator
Follow these steps to calculate your WBJEE marks by pasting your answers or uploading a response PDF. These instructions apply to all devices (PC, mobile, tablet).
Steps for Pasting Answers (All Devices)
-
Log in to Your WBJEE Profile
Open a web browser on your device (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and visit the official WBJEE website: wbjeeb.nic.in. Log in to your candidate portal using your WBJEE Application Number and Password.
On mobile devices, use a browser (not the WBJEE app, if any) and ensure a stable internet connection. Pinch to zoom or rotate the screen for better visibility.
-
Navigate to Your Recorded Response and Copy the Recorded Response
In the candidate dashboard, locate the Recorded Response or Response Sheet section (often under "Candidate Services"). This will display a table with details like "Mathematics" or "Physics and Chemistry," set number (e.g., 5011015xxx for Mathematics, 5012015xxx for Physics and Chemistry), question numbers, and your responses (A, B, C, D, or -). Copy the responses in the following format, one question per line:
Mathematics 5011015xxx Q1 A
Mathematics 5011015xxx Q2 A
Mathematics 5011015xxx Q3 -
Mathematics 5011015xxx Q4 B
Mathematics 5011015xxx Q5 -
Mathematics 5011015xxx Q6 D
For Physics and Chemistry, use the same format, e.g., Physics and Chemistry\t5012015xxx\tQ1\tA
. On PC, highlight the table, right-click, and select "Copy" (or Ctrl+C). On mobile/tablet, long-press the table, select "Copy," or take a screenshot and manually type the responses in a text editor (e.g., Notepad, Notes app) in the above format. For Category 3 questions, responses may be comma-separated (e.g., B,C,D). You can copy partial responses; unanswered questions will be treated as unattempted (-).
-
Paste It on the Paste Your Answer Section
On this website, select the exam type ("Physics/Chemistry & Mathematics" or "Physics/Chemistry only") from the dropdown. For "Physics/Chemistry & Mathematics," you will see two paste areas (one for Mathematics, one for Physics/Chemistry). Switch to Paste Answers mode using the toggle button. Paste your copied responses into the appropriate Paste Your Answers textarea. Ensure each line follows the format Subject\tSetNumber\tQX\tY
(e.g., Mathematics\t5011015xxx\tQ1\tA
, Physics and Chemistry\t5012015xxx\tQ66\tB,C,D
).
On PC, right-click in the textarea and select "Paste" (or Ctrl+V). On mobile/tablet, tap the textarea, select "Paste," or long-press to paste. Ensure tabs (\t) separate fields; spaces may work but tabs are preferred.
-
Choose Your Correct Set
Select your question paper set (A, B, C, or D) for each subject from the Select Question Set dropdowns, as indicated on your response sheet or WBJEE admit card (e.g., Set No. 5011015588 typically corresponds to SET D for Mathematics). Click Calculate Marks to process and view your results.
Ensure the selected set matches your response sheet. On mobile/tablet, tap the dropdown to select the set.
For PC Users: Alternative PDF Upload Method
If you prefer to upload your response sheet as a PDF instead of pasting answers, follow these steps on a PC:
-
Log in to Your WBJEE Profile
Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge) and visit wbjeeb.nic.in. Log in to your candidate portal using your WBJEE Application Number and Password.
-
Go to Recorded Response Section
In the candidate dashboard, locate the Recorded Response or Response Sheet section (often under "Candidate Services"). This will display a table with "Mathematics" or "Physics and Chemistry," set number, question numbers, and responses (A-D or -).
-
Press "Ctrl+P" and Select Save as PDF
On the recorded response page, press Ctrl+P to open the print dialog. Select Save as PDF as the printer/destination. Choose a location on your PC (e.g., Desktop or Documents).
-
Select Save as Type
In the save dialog, ensure the file is saved as a PDF with the .pdf
extension (e.g., response_math.pdf
, response_physics_chemistry.pdf
). If you see an option like "All Files" in the "Save as type" dropdown, ensure the file name ends with .pdf
.
-
Upload the File Here and Select Correct Set
On this website, select the exam type. For "Physics/Chemistry & Mathematics," upload two PDFs (one for Mathematics, one for Physics/Chemistry). Switch to Upload Response Sheet mode using the toggle button. Click Choose File to upload each PDF. Select your question paper set (A, B, C, or D) for each subject. Click Calculate Marks to process and view your results.
Troubleshooting
If you see errors like "Please upload a valid WBJEE response PDF before calculating marks," "Please upload file in specified format as per the instructions," or "Invalid response format":
- Verify PDF: For upload mode, open the PDF in a viewer to confirm it contains the response table with "Mathematics" or "Physics and Chemistry," set number, question numbers, and responses (A-D or -). Ensure the file is a valid PDF.
- Verify Pasted Responses: For paste mode, ensure answers follow
Subject\tSetNumber\tQX\tY
. Check for correct tab separation, valid question numbers, and responses.
- Re-copy Responses: For paste mode, repeat Step 2 to ensure correct copying.
- Re-download PDF: For upload mode, repeat the PDF saving steps to ensure the file is not corrupted.
- Upload PDF or Paste Answers: Ensure PDFs are uploaded or valid responses are pasted for the selected subjects.
Advanced Troubleshooting: Press F12 (PC) or use browser developer tools and go to the Console tab to view logs.
Notes:
- Ensure the selected exam type and sets match your response sheets.
- Use a modern browser with a stable internet connection.
